Auburn UniversityGrowing up Ms. Esco traveled to Auburn almost monthly either to see family or to attend an event on Auburn University’s campus. Attending Auburn always seemed to be destiny for her, due to her strong ties to the university and surrounding area. After graduating from State, she decided that Auburn University was the perfect place to continue her education. Auburn was her second home my entire life, and in the Spring of 2018 was time to make it her actual home for the next two years.

Masters in Community Planning |
After graduating from State, she knew that she wanted to help shape the future for communities, but before starting the Masters of Community Planning (MCP) program at Auburn she did not know much about how communities plan for the future in terms of growth and development.
Her decision to join the MCP program has been extremely fulfilling because of the numerous opportunities she had to help shape the future success of communities in the South in class projects. Ms. Esco knew that the skills and professional experiences she obtained during her time in the MCP program will allow her to become a successful planner, but more importantly, it will allow me to be an impactful planner for the communities South. She graduated from Auburn University with a Masters in Community Planning from the College of Liberal Arts in December of 2019. |
Graduate Certificate in Geographical Information Systems Science
Ms. Esco had her first experience with GIS was in an intro class during her first year as an MCP student. Like many other students, she found the software to frustrating at first, but after a few days of practice she started to get the hang of the basics. I was able to incorporate GIS analysis into my research for classes.
GIS has opened up an entire new world for her because it allows her to present her research findings in an easy to understand format for the audience. During the Spring semester of 2019, she decided to enroll in the Geography Department's GIS graduate certificate program, in order to increase her knowledge in GIS software and concepts. She finished her graduate certificate in Geographical Information Systems Science in December of 2019. |
